MOBO Awards: Full Winners List



The highly anticipated MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards took place at the Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Echo Arena, Liverpool, UK, opening with the Jay-Z and Kanye West track ‘Niggas In Paris’ playing in the background.

Emile Sande, 25-year-old singer-songwriter won Best Female, Best Album for her number one-selling “Our Version of Events” and Best R&B/Soul. The Roc Nation singer also won the award for Best Newcomer

while the Nigerian entertainer, D’banj scooped the award for Best African Act.

Outstanding  Contribution to Music went to R&B trio TLC (rest in peace Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes). The group’s surviving members  Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas collected the award and revealed plans on reuniting and tour. There is also a TLC movie in works.

Lifetime Achievement Award – Dionne Warwick
