2 Most Ridiculous Album Titles by New Skool Artists

Album title and record sale(s) are two important factors which contribute to a music or an acting career. Focusing on music, the very talented artists like Drake, Wizkid, MI, sold thousands of copies without extravagant publicity. On the other hand, there are also controversial artists who give albums very awkward and ridiculous titles, which on the short-run serve as a catalyst to the album sale e.g
Lil B and Davido.
                                            Lil B & Davido

Firstly, Lil B also known as “The Based god” is a 23-year-old US hiphop artist/rapper. He is associated (maybe signed) with Soulja Boy’s label, Stack On Deck Money Gang (SODMG). Lil B recorded over 1,500 tracks and managed to have three hits “Wonton Soup,” “Pretty Bitch,” and

“I’m God”. Surprised? Common! He’s affiliated with Soulja Boy.
Lil B released his fifth album, titled I Am Gay. He received several death threats, album sold for few days and that was it. Controversy gone wrong! — the end of the beginning of Channel Orange.
Davido! Nigeria’s 19-year-old (constant age) singer; “Back When”, “Dami Duro” and “Overseas” hitmaker. Davido named his album O.B.O, an acronym which when pronounced in Nigerian yoruba language means the VeeJayJay, the female private…you got it? OK. Literally, the full meaning of O.B.O is Omo Baba Olowo, meaning son of a rich man — his father Chief Adeleke is a multi-millionaire.

The title was revealed few weeks before the album launch and O.B.O trended controversially 4days in a row on twitter, if I didn’t lose count. On Sunday, 22nd July 2012, Davido held his anticipated album launch “Omo Baba Olowo – The Genesis” at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. D’banj, Naeto C, celebrities, city big boys & girls, the richest man in Africa/Nigeria “Aliko Dangote”, Dele Momodu came through. Boom! Controversy sold. Check out the album launch photos
